The 3 Keys To “OWNING IT”

At Any Age

It doesn't take long hours at the gym, a nutritionist, a personal chef, and a will of steel to be healthy, fit, and full of vitality... and to stay that way well after your 40s. What got you to this stage in life, though, isn't going to get you where you want to go during the coming decades. Things change as you get older; it's a simple fact of life. Guess what, thought? Things CAN change for the better. You just need implement the "3 Keys."


I know it can seem like you need to go "all or nothing" when it comes to your health. And you know what? I'm NOT going to stand in your way if you're ready to go all in with a complete lifestyle overhaul.

Let's be real, though.

Most of us adopt "all or nothing" thinking as a way to put off today what we plan to do tomorrow.

But (spoiler alert!) plans don't change your life... ACTIONS do.

That's why I'm a huge proponent of taking the right actions, at the right time, in the right combination. Don't worry, I'm not talking about taking micro-actions that require MONTHS of patience for you to see results.

I'm just saying that if you adopt the 80/20 rule (80% healthy food, habits, and mindset... 20% just-being-human) you'll find yourself staying lean, healthy, and vital while LOVING your life. 


The truth is that, for women in their 40s and beyond, strenuous exercise does more harm than good.

Long, intense workouts cause your body to produce stress hormones, which end up canceling out your efforts.

Imagine burning 300 calories at the gym - yet only efficiently processing 700 of the 1,000 calories you ate today (with the other 300 being stored as fat because your body isn't able to deal with them properly).

Do the math here: you've gone to the gym and sweated away... exactly ZERO weight.

(300 calories burned off at gym, 300 calories added on because of stress factors. Zero calories eliminated.)

So, the key is to move - not stay sedentary all day long - but to find movement that doesn't stress your body so badly that you want to curl up in the fetal position and sleep all day.


When you don't like the way you look or feel, it can be so hard to just take the first step toward change.

Once you do get moving in the right direction, though, you want quick wins so you'll have the motivation to keep going.

By "quick wins" I don't mean you'll lose 30 pounds overnight or have perfectly toned biceps in two weeks.

I do want you to see and feel some immediate changes, though -- like a longer, leaner profile, a brighter complexion, or even just a feeling of being more confident and comfortable in your own skin.
